Women's Land Management Coordinator Job Summary

The Women's Land Management Coordinator plays a vital role in developing and implementing programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of Indigenous women in land management.

  • Coordinate the development and implementation of the Women Rangers Work Program, working closely with community members and other stakeholders.
  • Provide training and support to women rangers, focusing on accredited conservation and ecosystem management certifications.
  • Collaborate with the Steering Committee to establish a Healthy Country Plan, ensuring effective land management practices and community engagement.
  • Mentor and supervise the Minymaku Warka Program team, promoting cultural competence and technical skills.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional to contribute to meaningful change in Indigenous communities while gaining valuable experience in project administration, finance management, and staff supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategies to increase the capacity of Anangu women in participating in the project.
  • Work collaboratively with the Training Coordinator to implement the training program.
  • Ensure effective day-to-day administrative management of the ranger program.
  • Participate in the development of a Women Ranger Strategy to grow a strong network of women rangers across the APY Lands.

Requirements:

  • Relevant qualification and/or experience in Cultural and Natural Resource Management.
  • Ability to work independently with initiative and self-direction, as well as collaborate with the Land Management team.
  • Practical experience in an Indigenous Community environment, with demonstrated ability to communicate and consult in a culturally appropriate way.
  • Demonstrated experience in project administration, finance management, managing staff, and assets.
