About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Merchandising Manager to lead our product development and buying function. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for planning and managing inventory, trading, and optimizing products to meet consumer and business goals.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Develop and implement product plans to maximize sales and achieve stock-turn targets.
  2. Build and manage seasonal product ranges in collaboration with buying, design, and finance teams.
  3. Lead assortment planning and supplier/product production planning initiatives.
  4. Manage open-to-buy and size ratio optimization to drive sales and profitability.
  5. Collaborate with suppliers to ensure timely and accurate production and delivery.
  6. Develop and maintain inventory intake trackers and optimize permission to ship processes.
  7. Lead product lessons learned, planning, and strategy sessions with product developers.
  8. Deliver departmental strategy in line with company direction and objectives.
  9. Develop and maintain a clear range architecture, including good, better, and best products.
  10. Cross-departmental collaboration with marketing, wholesale, international, e-commerce, finance, and logistics teams.
  11. Deliver and exceed company targets for gross profit by ensuring collections meet margin targets.
  12. Provide weekly trade reporting and presentations.
  13. Optimize trade through selling channels, including website merchandising.
  14. Support broader business development initiatives, including strategic planning and implementation of new revenue streams.

Requirements

  1. Expertise in creating and leading merchandising functions, including designing and building new processes.
  2. Fashion retail merchandising experience is essential.
  3. Proven experience leading a team with direct reports.
  4. Commercial finance knowledge, including experience owning a P+L, is an advantage.

Skills and Qualities

  1. Strong analytical skills to identify successes and failures and drive performance.
  2. Team player with excellent communication skills, including presenting, pitching, and representing the brand.
  3. Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  4. Ability to drive the brand forward and motivate team members.
  5. Motivated and hardworking, with a passion for fashion apparel.
