About the Role:

  1. Implement Safety Management Systems (SQS) onboard.
  2. Ensure safe and efficient operation of the vessel under command, protecting cargo and all on board.
  3. Take appropriate measures to prevent environmental pollution.
  4. Comply with laws and regulations, maintaining related documents and filing reports.
  5. Act as designated Ship Security Officer (SSO).

Key Requirements:

  • Hold an AMSA Master COC/COR Unlimited certificate.
  • Meet education requirements as per AMSA Marine Order 71.
  • Have at least 5 years of sea time as a Chief Officer.
  • Hold STCW regulation II/2 certification.
  • Possess a valid MSIC Card and ECDIS/GMDSS certifications.
  • Be an Australian citizen or hold a valid working visa without restrictions.
  • Reside in an Australian state.
  • Possess a Pilotage Exemption Certificate for Port of Melbourne or Port of Davenport (desirable).
