Teach Food Technology to Thriving Students

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Teacher Food Technology to join our vibrant educational community.

The successful applicant will have the ability to teach Food Technology to students in Years 9-12, with a focus on academic growth, developing resilience, empathy, acceptance, and teamwork across the school community.

  • Approval to teach Food Technology is essential.
  • Approval to teach or willingness to undertake training in VHO Hospitality – Commercial Cookery and VHF Hospitality – Food and Beverage is highly regarded.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as a collaborative member of the Teaching and Learning faculty and contribute to developing, implementing, and evaluating high-level teaching programs and resources for student engagement and learning outcomes is essential.
  • Proven ability in classroom management and the capacity to manage practical workspaces to ensure student safety, participation, and engagement in lessons to enhance student learning opportunities is crucial.

The school has an enrolment of 530 students from diverse cultural backgrounds, including 13% Aboriginal students and an increasing Muslim student enrolment which is currently 8%. The school works closely with the local community and receives significant funding which allows for the introduction of new programs and initiatives to boost student-learning outcomes.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be able to build strong relationships with students, staff, and parents, and possess a commitment to ongoing professional development.
