Job Title: Senior Underground Longhole Driller

This is a challenging role that requires the individual to operate mechanised drill equipment safely and accurately. The primary responsibility of the successful candidate will be to drill longholes according to design patterns, working closely with surveyors, geologists, and engineers to optimise drill patterns and metres.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in underground mining practices, including experience with longhole drilling equipment. A proactive approach to safety is essential, as well as the ability to work efficiently with limited supervision.

  • Key Responsibilities:
    • Drill longholes using mechanised drill equipment
    • Read and follow mine instruction plans with precision
    • Communicate effectively with surveyors, geologists, and engineers to optimise drill patterns and metres
    • Set up and troubleshoot longhole drill rigs
    • Assess face conditions at the start of the job and scale from height according to site requirements

Requirements:

  • Possession of a strong passion for safety, with a proactive attitude towards ensuring safety is prioritised
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Underground Mining Industry
  • Minimum 5 years of experience solely as an Underground Longhole Driller
  • Knowledge of Underground Mining Practices and efficient operation of Underground Longhole Machine
  • Able to work highly organised and efficiently with limited supervision
