Coal Operations Leader

We are seeking a Production Manager to lead our underground team at the mine. The mine produces high-quality coal with a planned production of up to 8 million tonnes per annum.

About the Role

The Production Manager will use their skills and knowledge to lead a team of superintendents, deliver systems of work and resources required to meet production objectives, and support the safe and efficient operation of the mine.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Oversight of longwall, development, and outbye areas
  • Developing and implementing operating systems
  • Managing performance targets and plans aligned to site production requirements
  • Building and maintaining cross-functional relationships with key stakeholders
  • Driving performance across the underground operation
  • Maintaining operational employees' competence and motivation
  • Reviewing and improving process efficiency
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A NSW Undermanager Certificate of Competency and Practising Certificate or tertiary qualifications in a relevant engineering field
  • Sound knowledge of underground mining processes and practical knowledge of mining equipment
  • Solid planning, organisational, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
  • Demonstrated ability to meet production objectives
