Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate lawyer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have an interest in working in employment, IR, and workers compensation law.

The role requires managing a file load of workers compensation advice and dispute matters. This includes providing advice to members in relation to employment matters and other associated industrial disputes.

The successful candidate will work on a range of disputes for our members and will be given the opportunity to appear routinely in Court and Tribunal hearings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Managing a file load of workers compensation advice and dispute matters
  • Providing advice to members in relation to employment matters and other associated industrial disputes
  • Drafting, lodging, and participating in court hearings in the SA Employment Tribunal and the Fair Work Commission
  • Representing the union in Enterprise Bargaining
  • Conducting legal research and preparing reports on related matters
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • High-level interpersonal and written and oral communication skills
  • Well-developed research, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Time management and organisational skills with the ability to multi-task
  • Advocacy experience in negotiations and tribunals is preferred
