Job Summary

CSL is seeking a highly skilled Production Engineer to support Bulk Manufacturing. As a key member of the production team, you will be responsible for conducting and coordinating engineering activities to ensure department objectives of Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost are achieved.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and provide equipment reliability and process engineering expertise for nominated manufacturing areas.
  • Investigate, develop, and implement solutions to engineering problems related to manufacturing equipment and systems or the causes of component failures.
  • Supervise tradespeople and liaise with Engineering, Production, and Quality colleagues to achieve business objectives.
  • Establish and provide Subject Matter Expertise for nominated manufacturing areas and provide frontline engineering support to resolve plant issues and reduce manufacturing downtime, while maintaining product quality.
  • Organize and/or manage staff/contractors to perform work as required.
  • Monitor the physical condition of the plant and implement solutions to adverse trends.
  • Raise and implement Process Change Requests and Deviations/CAPAs where appropriate in your nominated area of responsibility.
  • Investigate any abnormal event of concern to maintenance and affecting the conduct of maintenance duties, the safety of plant and people, and/or the quality of the product.
  • Investigate plant failures, determine the cause of failure, and implement permanent solutions.
  • Implement small improvement projects to enhance the performance of the designated area.
  • Liaise with other Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality groups to facilitate efficient operations and ensure department objectives of Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost are achieved.
  • Optimize PM programs to achieve the economic balance between plant performance and the use of maintenance resources.
  • Participate in the implementation of the long-term technical master plan for the area to ensure effective lifecycle management of the equipment and provision of critical spare parts.
  • Develop and maintain technical and operating documentation, and conduct training activities.

Requirements

  • Degree in an appropriate discipline (mechanical, electrical, or other related discipline) from a recognized tertiary education institution, together with eligibility for professional membership of the relevant college of the Institute of Engineers.
  • Experience in operation and maintenance of semi-or fully automated manufacturing plant, and the direction of maintenance personnel working on the plant.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be computer literate.
  • Familiarity with typical computerized maintenance management systems.
  • A sound knowledge of plant diagnostic methods and reliability engineering.
  • Prepared to undertake a concentrated period of learning to become competent in the operation of the plant.
  • Personal organization and work planning skills.
  • A logical/analytical approach to problem-solving.
  • A commitment to occupational health, safety, and environment protection.
  • A commitment to quality.
  • Maintenance and Project Engineering experience with highly automated Pharmaceutical equipment.
  • Expertise in process plant engineering involving automated control systems.
  • Operational experience in the requirements of the Code of Good Manufacturing Practice [cGMP] in a Pharmaceutical environment.
