Disability Support Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate individual to join our team as a Disability Support Worker.

The role involves providing high-quality support to participants with various physical and mental health disabilities, promoting a healthier lifestyle, and empowering them to achieve their goals.

About the Position

As a Disability Support Worker, you will work with participants in Wollongong and Illawarra, assisting with daily living skills, supporting social and recreational activities, and implementing practices that promote a healthier lifestyle.

  • Personal care and hygiene
  • Medication prompting and management
  • Working with participants with complex behaviours
  • Effective communication with staff and participants
  • Technological savviness and administrative skills
  • Phone skills and communication
  • Ability to complete essential reports and documentation
  • General domestic duties and household management
  • Transportation and mobility support
  • Social and community participation

You will be required to work a minimum of three days a week, ensuring consistency and reliability in your support services.

Key Responsibilities

Assist participants with daily living tasks, such as personal care, meal preparation, and medication management.

Support participants with social and recreational activities, promoting social inclusion and community engagement.

Implement and monitor practices that promote a healthier lifestyle, including healthy eating, exercise, and stress management.

Empower participants to achieve their goals, providing guidance, support, and resources as needed.
