Heavy Equipment Operator Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and skilled heavy equipment operator to join our team.

About the Role:

  • The successful candidate will be responsible for operating a forklift in a warehouse environment, ensuring safe and efficient movement of goods.
  • They will work under and around overhead cranes and in high-traffic sites, requiring strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Responsibilities include loading and unloading trucks, general warehouse duties, and manual handling.
  • The ideal candidate will have a forklift license, experience with heavy and wide loads, and load restraint skills.
  • They will also commit to workplace health and safety standards.

Key Requirements:

  • Forklift Licence (Essential)
  • Overhead/Gantry Crane RII/Licence (Highly Regarded)
  • Proven Forklift Experience - Any Exposure to Heavy and Wide Loads, Skills in High Reach and Counter Balance Will Be Highly Regarded
  • Load Restraint Experience - Including Strap and/or Ratchet Experience Highly Regarded
  • Strong Communication and Customer Service Skills
  • Ability to Work Quickly and Efficiently in a Physically Demanding Environment
  • Commitment to Workplace Health and Safety
