St Francis Catholic College, Edmondson Park is a rapidly growing K-12 school with a student population exceeding 1500 students. The college is organised into Junior Years Learning (K-4), Middle Years Learning (5-8), and Senior Years Learning (9-12). A temporary part-time position is available for a parental leave replacement, with a possibility of an additional teaching load.

The successful applicant will provide quality pathways and employment education programs that develop students' skills, knowledge, and capabilities for post-school opportunities. They will advocate for students' career development and education, ensuring that students are aware of post-school options and prepared for the transition to post-school life.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advocate for students' career development and education
  • Provide quality pathways and employment education programs
  • Support students' full participation in learning
  • Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and the wider school community

Essential Criteria:

  • Demonstrate a deep understanding and commitment to the mission and purpose of the Catholic School
  • Create and maintain an orderly, safe, and supportive learning environment
  • Apply knowledge of the diverse needs of students to support their full participation in learning
  • Ability to plan for and implement effective teaching and learning
  • Use a range of assessment strategies and analyse data to inform student learning

Desirable Selection Criteria:

  • Career Counselling Experience and an understanding of Vocational Education and Training (VET)
  • Be an active member of various Career Associations

General Capabilities:

  • Well-developed interpersonal skills
  • Well-developed oral and written communication skills
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

Qualifications:

  • Appropriate qualifications for teaching nominated Key Learning Area (s)
  • Level B Accreditation in accordance with To Work, Teach and Lead policy
  • The applicant must be registered to teach with NESA

Working with Children Clearance:

This role is classified as child-related work and therefore a Working With Children Check (WWCC) is required prior to employment.
