Enhance Water Quality through Innovative Research Opportunities

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced researcher to join our team in the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering.

This position offers a unique chance to lead research projects focused on water sensing and sampling systems, working closely with water utilities, water companies, and collaborators at QUT. We are looking for a researcher with expertise in water engineering, preferably with experience in monitoring water systems, developing and deploying water sensors or sampling devices, or processing and analyzing water-related datasets.

The successful candidate will be involved in various research projects, including water monitoring, sampling, and modeling. They will also have the opportunity to contribute to the development of new technologies and methodologies for improving water quality and sustainability.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

1. A doctoral qualification in civil or environmental engineering, electrical engineering, or computer science, or a closely related discipline.

2. A strong research record in areas such as water monitoring, sampling, or modeling.

3. Excellent communication and leadership skills to support and supervise graduate students.

About the School

The School of Civil and Environmental Engineering is a leading institution for teaching and research excellence in sustainable design, planning, construction, and operation of infrastructure and resource management. Our teams are actively engaged in research and teaching in areas such as urban water management, climate change adaptation, disaster management, infrastructure resilience, structural health monitoring, fire safety engineering, transport systems, and resilient pavements.

We have a highly capable higher degree research student body, with over 80 students engaged in MPhil and PhD programs. Our researchers study the natural, built, and virtual environments to find ways to make them more sustainable, secure, and resilient.
