Scientific Leadership Role

This permanent position offers opportunities to contribute to projects focusing on water quality monitoring, analysis and reporting, QA/QC and cutting-edge research.

About the Role:

  • This role provides opportunities to work with a diverse team across the Catchment Water Quality Alliance to deliver scientific outcomes.
  • You will work closely with other government agencies, policy makers, industry, and the community to provide comprehensive information and advice on contemporary water issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialist scientific leadership and advice in support of ongoing development and operations of load-based water quality monitoring and assessment programs.
  • Contribute to strategic planning processes by providing professional input to project plans and management of projects.
  • Manage highly qualified work teams and individuals through operational planning, performance appraisal, skills development, and training programs.
  • Negotiate projects with industry and clients to attract external funding and achieve outcomes.

Requirements:

  • A strong track record in leadership and technical expertise in water quality science.
  • Ability to lead workforce planning activities, performance appraisal, and skills development.
  • Familiarity with resource management issues and policies related to water quality.
