Job Summary

This position is for a Student Support Specialist to work in a dynamic school environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing support and guidance to students to enhance their learning and wellbeing outcomes.

Main Responsibilities
  • To provide individual and group counselling sessions using evidence-based interventions, taking into account the mental health needs of children and young people.
  • To conduct psychological assessments of students, including case formulation and report writing, to inform teaching practice and student support.
  • To collaborate with teachers, parents and other stakeholders to develop strategies to improve student learning and wellbeing outcomes, particularly for students from diverse backgrounds and needs.
Requirements
  • To hold registration or provisionally registration as a psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia.
  • To have the ability and willingness to travel between school sites.
  • This role is covered by the Teachers award (Crown Employees (Teachers in Schools and Related Employees) Salaries and Conditions Award).

The successful applicant will be provided with ongoing professional development opportunities and regular supervision to support them in their role.
