Lead Researcher: Genomics and Disease Biology
\We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced researcher to lead our team in the field of genomics and disease biology. The successful candidate will have a strong background in genetic research, a proven track record of innovation, and excellent leadership skills.
\The role will involve developing and implementing cutting-edge research projects, leading a team of researchers, and collaborating with industry partners to drive innovation and translation of research into practice.

\Our centre is a world-leading research institution dedicated to improving human health outcomes through the study of genomics and disease biology. We have a strong focus on personalised or precision medicine, where prediction, prevention, and treatment of disease take centre stage.
\Our researchers are working towards better health outcomes through innovative approaches to understanding complex diseases. We believe that by harnessing the power of genomics, we can develop new treatments and improve the lives of people affected by common diseases such as heart disease, endometriosis, motor neurone disease, liver disease, and diabetes.
\Key Responsibilities:

- Develop and implement cutting-edge research projects in genomics and disease biology\
- Lead a team of researchers and provide guidance and support to ensure successful project delivery\
- Collaborate with industry partners to drive innovation and translation of research into practice\
- Contribute to the development of policy and strategy for the centre\
- Maintain a high level of scientific expertise and stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies\
- Foster strong relationships with stakeholders, including funders, collaborators, and the wider community\
- Ensure effective management of resources, including budget and personnel\
- Represent the centre at national and international conferences and meetings\
- Contribute to the development of publications, reports, and other outputs\
- Support the development of grant proposals and funding applications\
- Engage with the public and media to promote the work of the centre\
- Perform other duties as required by the Director and Senior Group Leader\
- Manage and maintain accurate records and documentation as required\
- Participate in quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives\
- Contribute to the development of training and professional development programs for centre staff\
- Provide mentorship and supervision to junior staff members\
- Act as a role model and advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion within the centre and broader community\
- Support the development of policies and procedures to promote a culture of safety and well-being within the centre\
- Collaborate with other centres and organisations to advance knowledge and practice in genomics and disease biology\
- Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in genomics and disease biology\
- Perform other duties as required by the Director and Senior Group Leader\
