Senior Drilling Geologist Position

Geologist Role Overview:

As a Geologist, your key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting textural logging techniques to analyze RC chips and verify results post-laboratory assay validation
  • Compiling and reviewing Assay outcomes – utilizing prior knowledge of XRF methodologies
  • Drill Rig Management and completion of in-field site inspections and Field Leadership forms
  • Creation of exportable datasets and maps for geological analysis
  • Generation of in-field sections for geospatial validation of RC logging
  • Development of drill programs with consideration of geological data
  • Data interpretation and management
  • Quality Control/Quality Assurance (QAQC) of drill hole data
  • Daily safety checks on drill rigs and drill pads
  • Utilization of Vulcan, Acquire, Arc Map and Leapfrog Geo software
  • Tracking sample collection and dispatch
  • Ability to work independently in remote locations.

Requirements and Skills:

To be eligible for this role, you will need:

  • Completion of tertiary studies in Geology
  • A valid C Class Driver’s License (Manual)

Favorable Extra Skills:

  • Experience with VULCAN and/or ARCGIS software is beneficial
  • Previous experience in the iron ore industry
