About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Community Engagement Advisor to join our team at Rio Tinto. As a key member of our Communities & Social Performance (CSP) team, you will play a critical role in building and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, enhancing company reputation, and driving positive community interaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collate and report on analytics and data to inform key performance indicator assessment and strategic decision making.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to report on and deliver key regional initiatives.
  • Provide administrative support to the Southwest regional office, including accounts payable and other administrative responsibilities.
  • Support and coordinate delivery of community events and activities, including management of contractors, communications, and risk management.
  • Respond to local community and stakeholder matters, applying professional knowledge and expertise to support the resolution of different Community Social Performance situations and challenges.
  • Support the dissemination of information to the local community and gather feedback from external stakeholders.
  • Undertake activities to maintain compliance with Rio Tinto safety, legal, and other commitments and policies.
  • Support the identification, mitigation, and management of organisational risk.
  • Support the planning and delivery of large-scale annual events for FIFO families.
  • Contribute to the attraction and retention of a diverse workforce by supporting strategic sourcing and recruitment activities.
Requirements
  • A commitment to the safety of yourself and others, creating and maintaining a safe workplace.
  • C Class Driver's Licence (WA).
  • Qualifications in Public Relations, Community Development, and/or a relevant field.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft office suite.
  • Previous experience and knowledge of report analysis, report presentation preparation, and report writing.
  • Knowledge of social investment principles.
  • Events and project management skills along with use of risk management tools.
  • Flexibility to travel throughout regional WA if required.
  • Experience working with community groups, local government, and industry bodies.
  • Understanding of Aboriginal culture and beliefs.
