The Electrical and Electronic engineering function in Ultra supports the hardware development lifecycle consisting of requirements analysis, design, implementation, test and verification in order to deliver electronic or electrical components and subassemblies into projects and products.
A professional at this grade possesses knowledge for specific fields and performs structured work assignments. Uses established procedures to solve problems by making judgments and gets work done with quality under moderate supervision. Has limited discretion to vary from established procedures.
Primary Responsibility
As an Electrical Engineering Specialist, you will be required to work closely with other engineering disciplines and productions teams in ensuring that project technical and schedule milestones are achieved whilst meeting contractual requirements and complying with company procedures.
The responsibilities will be split across Defence Acquisition Projects and/or In Service Support Contract
Key Responsibilities will include:
- Providing engineering support for fault finding of legacy systems to ensure contract KPIs are met;
- Conducting engineering investigations of legacy systems;
- Participating in System Design and Hardware requirements reviews and establishing the Hardware specific requirements for projects;
- Develop candidate solutions which meet customer requirements and present such solutions during design reviews;
- Manage the configuration control of project documents / drawings in accordance with company procedures with the support of the relevant Project Engineer / Technical Authority;
- Utilise appropriate design capture and analysis tools effectively to enable design tasks to be completed in the most timely manner
- Assist in identifying safety hazards and contribute to product safety engineering;
- Work with Project Engineering and Production staff to optimise designs for manufacturability, repeatability, reliability and maintainability;
- Create, maintain and change designs, drawings and parts lists for electrical assemblies in accordance with company procedures;
- Support the integrity of the design by checking of design artefacts, including documents and drawings created by self and others;
- Identify non-conformances with engineering drawings and associated parts lists and creating NC-CA reports in accordance with company procedures;
- Participate in Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) activities to maintain a safe and clean work environment; and
- Support equipment integration and validation to ensure that the design meets its requirements;
Key Competency Requirements:
- Experience in developing electrical drawings such as Wiring Diagrams, Schematics Wiring Lists, and Cable Assemblies;
- Experience in presenting technical solutions during formal customer design reviews;
- Understanding of electrical and/or electronics design
- An understanding of Configuration Management principles;
- Experience in configuring and managing drawing changes and be proficient in the use of configuration management tools;
- Excellent computer literacy including Microsoft Excel, Visio and Word, with an understanding of file structures/databases; and
- Experience in a Defence Acquisition Project or In Service Support Contract;
- Working knowledge and understanding of digital &/or analogue electronics technologies; design tools and techniques, electronic circuits design, schematic capture, design analysis, design documentation, commissioning, and integration
$100,000 - $120,000 per annum

Nationality Requirements
The successfully appointed candidate must be eligible to obtain and maintain a current Australian Defence Security Clearance to Negative Vetting Level 1 (NV1).
