Medical Front Desk Specialist

Overview:
We are seeking an organized and detail-oriented individual to work as a Medical Front Desk Specialist in our healthcare facility. This is a casual role that involves working weekdays on a full day shift basis, with the expectation of offering 2-3 shifts per week.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing medical records, greeting patients and visitors at reception, facilitating patient admission and discharge procedures, and performing health fund checks upon patient arrival.
- Managing medical records by organizing retrieval and distribution for inpatient hospital admissions and appointments;
- Sorting and filing medical records in filing bays or compactus;
- Maintaining accurate records registers;
- Completing audits of medical records;
- Creating new treatment plans and hard charts for clinics;
- Greeting patients and visitors at reception with a professional and friendly demeanor;
- Facilitating patient admission and discharge procedures/paperwork;
- Performing health fund checks upon patient arrival, discussing any costs/gap payments/co-payments;
- Ensuring patient details are checked and updated regularly;
- Managing wait room functions for both medical practice and day hospital as needed;
Requirements:
To be considered for this role, you should have experience in a similar position within the healthcare industry. You will need excellent organizational and time management skills, as well as strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Proficiency in using computer systems, including Word and Excel, is also essential.
