Product Data Strategist

This pivotal role empowers teams to make informed decisions by bridging the gap between product leaders, data experts and our Audience Insights Team. You will create dashboards, visualisations and experimentation opportunities that drive innovation, positively impacting how Australians interact with digital content.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Empower teams with data literacy to self-serve insights and make informed decisions.
  • Partner with engineering and data teams to translate business needs into technical requirements, ensuring effective data visualisation tools and dashboards are delivered.
  • Define and integrate product data strategies closely with stakeholders.
  • Drive experimentation and unlock data-powered innovation to shape the future of Digital Products.
  • Collaborate with the Audience Insights Team to ensure shared definitions and trusted measurement frameworks.
  • Oversee digital product development, implementation and review of a suite of digital products and platforms to achieve outstanding digital audience experiences.
  • Develop and implement highly effective, innovative and measurable product strategies to engage, retain and build new audiences.
  • Support the definition and implementation of product development metrics across Digital Product in partnership with key stakeholders.
Leadership:
  • Lead and manage product teams, driving a high-performance culture to contribute to objectives.
  • Define and operationalise a framework to enable product teams to meet quality standards for event tagging in line with shared data event schemas.
  • Contribute to leadership, coordinating efforts across peers and influencing aspects like team structures and resourcing.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to create alignment on shared data definitions and inspire confidence in data quality.
  • Partner with product teams to capture required data for product development using 'easy to use' visualisation tooling and techniques.
  • Foster a culture of creativity that drives staff to continually seek new ways to deliver content and reach audiences.
  • Lead procurement, maintenance and performance of product analytics platforms.
About You:
  • Proven people leadership skills, including managing, mentoring and developing high-performing teams.
  • Experience in product management, data analytics or digital product development, focusing on enabling product teams through data.
  • Ability to bridge technical and non-technical perspectives to deliver practical user-friendly solutions.
  • Solid experience with data visualisation tools and platforms (e.g., Snowplow, Snowflake, dashboards).
  • Expertise and knowledge on competitive trends in product development and product analytics.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, along with a creative, experimental mindset.
  • Commitment to inclusive leadership and fostering diversity in teams and ways of working.
