We are seeking a driven and passionate Commis Chef to join our team at Yakimono, a high-energy Japanese-inspired eating house in the heart of Melbourne's CBD.

About Yakimono:
A creative tribute to the corruptible side of Japanese cuisine, Yakimono is an exuberant inner-urban Japanese eating house that joined the LUCAS family in 2021. Located in the newly developed 80 Collins precinct, next to the two Hat Society Restaurant, Yakimono offers a unique dining experience.

About LUCAS Restaurants:
LUCAS Restaurants is home to Australia's most beloved and acclaimed restaurants, including Chin Chin Melbourne and Sydney, GoGo Bar, Kisumé, Hawker Hall, Baby Pizza, Yakimono, Society, and Grill Americano. We create venues and experiences that are Australian in approach and unbound by traditional dining practices.

The Ideal Candidate Must Have:

  1. Demonstrated experience in a commercial kitchen with a focus on Japanese cuisine.
  2. Ability to effectively follow instructions and absorb new information quickly.
  3. Good communication skills and ability to build effective relationships.
  4. Calm and composed demeanor in a fast-paced environment.
  5. Qualification in Commercial Cookery or equivalent experience.

We offer a competitive salary range of $55,000 - $65,000 per annum, generous discounts in our venues, and opportunities for growth and development. Our team exists to see our staff succeed, with ongoing training and continuous development provided to support each individual's career aspirations.
