About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Buying and Planning Assistant to join our team at APG & Co. As a key member of our Planning and Buying Teams, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our retail business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administration and Systems
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in our AP21 system
    • Raise purchase orders, price tickets, and communicate with stores on product and pricing changes
    • Assist in the administration and management of processes and procedures to deliver ranges to stores with accurate product information
    • Communicate and liaise with internal and external functions on relevant information
    • Assist the Allocator in stock allocations, consolidations, and replenishment across our stores, using store grading and targets to maximize sales opportunities
    • Set up and manage tactical activity and markdown in our system
    • Maintain product attributes and data integrity
  • Reporting
    • Run regular reports and work with the Planning Team to interpret analysis and actions for their department
    • Provide support to planners on reporting and analysis of daily sales, weekly sales by store, end of month inventory, and post-season analysis
    • Understand product characteristics and how to maximize sales through attribute reporting
  • Product
    • Responsible for sample management and tracking
    • Review trade reactions, summarize, and update on a weekly basis with the team
    • Responsible for comp shopping
  • Range
    • Creation of Buying Boards, line sheets, and updating range plans
    • Liaise with wider business functions on sample management for key meetings in the Buying Calendar and in the progress of ranges to final store execution
    • Responsible for raising purchase orders
    • Order and chase PR samples and assist marketing with campaign imagery
    • Pull samples for online and visual merchandising
  • Production and Logistics
    • Manage up-to-date production trackers
    • Assist weekly production meetings with the wider team to manage the progress of products and ensure on-time delivery of ranges to stores
    • Escalate any production issues that would affect on-time delivery of ranges to stores
    Requirements
    • Experience working in a retail environment
    • Experience in and/or knowledge of a fashion retail Buying and/or Planning Department would be advantageous
    • Relevant qualification in Commerce, Business, or Retail-related is highly advantageous
    • Ability to manage and interpret data
    • Strong attention to detail
    • Effective numerical, critical thinking, and analytical skills
    • Proficient in Microsoft Excel (suite)
    • Strong communication skills and attention to detail
    • Excellent time management and organizational skills
    • Ability to work autonomously, prioritize tasks, and take initiative
    • Loves all things product and has an active interest in fashion
