A rewarding position for passionate dementia professionals to work with HammondCare on a Fixed Term Full-time contract in Canberra Office.

The Support Dementia Specialist will facilitate on-the-ground support, implement relationship-based strategies, model and coach clients, carers, and care staff.

  • Collaborate with peers to develop aged care staff and carers' skills, expertise, and knowledge to understand individuals living with dementia and provide best practice support and care.
  • Implement recommendation plans on the ground, utilising modelling and coaching techniques, and seek guidance from Team Leader, Dementia Consultant, and Senior Consultant as required.
  • Foster and support trial and implementation of brokerage items with clients and their carers, and seek guidance from Team Leader, Dementia Consultant, and Senior Consultant as required.

What We Need From You:

  • Strong organisational abilities, including effective time management and prioritisation in a busy work environment and competing demands.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated commitment to excellence in customer service principles, including conflict resolution, to ensure consistent provision of exceptional service to internal and external customers.
  • A current driver's licence and safe driving record.
  • Willingness to travel and work intrastate and interstate for up to five days at a time to support delivery of DC services.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours at times and as required to meet assessed needs of clients and carers.
  • Qualification in relevant field; Allied Health assistant, Diversional Therapy, Enrolled Nursing (EN), Aged Care, Cert III or IV in Individual Support / Leisure and Health or similar highly desirable.

Estimated Salary: $90,000 - $110,000 per annum, depending on experience.
