Acton Park, Tasmania, Australia National Film & Sound Archive of Australia Full time

About the National Film and Sound Archive of Australia

The NFSA is Australia's audiovisual archive, collecting, preserving and sharing audiovisual media to tell the national story. With a collection dating back to 1935, it's one of the world's oldest and most used cultural collections, with over 125 million views each year.

We're in a period of significant change, driven by increased Government investment and digital transformation. This has led to rebuilding our curatorial workforce and developing capacity to digitise our collection at scale.

As we continue to work on developing a stable and secure workforce across four physical sites, we're also undergoing business improvement for corporate systems to improve efficiency and reduce manual handling.

We aim to be an employer of choice within the GLAM sector, providing exciting and challenging work, favourable employment conditions, and unique development opportunities.

About the Team

The Conservation Services team conducts a wide range of activities for preservation and care of the audiovisual, documents and artefacts collection. We have two streams: Audiovisual Conservation and Collection Conservation, coordinating to undertake collection care programs like Integrated Pest Management and chemical management.

The team provides technical advice, undertakes conservation works, and ensures the national audiovisual collection is preserved by maintaining current policies and procedures.

The Opportunity

The Team Leader Audiovisual Conservation plays a key role in the Audiovisual Conservation team, contributing strategically to the NFSA program. This role focuses on working with the physical audiovisual collection, coordinating staff resources, and ensuring the program meets strategic objectives.

**Estimated Salary:** $80,000 - $110,000 per annum, based on location and experience.
