Rail Network Change Program Specialist

This role involves engaging with customer-focused, technical, and operational public transport experts across the broader passenger rail industry in Southeast Queensland to deliver an ambitious program of rail network changes.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Data Analysis: Analyze operational and passenger travel data trends to support short- to mid-term concept train plans, ensuring alignment with customer needs and expectations.
  2. Tech Output Assessment: Assess and collate technical outputs from major rail planning projects, including Cross River Rail, to understand impacts and benefits for customers.
  3. Proposal Support: Prepare and analyze data to support public transport proposals and operations improvement plans, driving positive change in the rail network.
  4. Investment Decision-Making: Collate technical inputs and review materials to support investment decision-making and achieve desired transport outcomes.
  5. Network Review: Review existing network and service performance to influence and prioritize roll-out of service and/or operational improvements.
  6. Communication Support: Provide technical input and draft communications relating to rail operations and passenger rail service performance, ensuring clear and concise messaging.
  7. Industry Expertise: Participate in a Transport and Main Roads-wide rail modelling community and develop skills through ongoing review of industry and/or academic principles.
  8. Stakeholder Engagement: Develop and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders on rail planning, rail operations, and passenger modelling matters.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to work closely with technical and operational experts to drive positive change in the rail network, leveraging your analytical and communication skills to inform investment decisions and improve rail services.

What You Will Need

To be successful in this role, you will require strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Experience working in the public transport sector and knowledge of rail network operations would be highly beneficial.
