Procurement Specialist for Gold Project

The DRD Group is seeking a highly skilled Procurement Officer to join their team on a 6-9 month contract basis. This exciting opportunity is based in the CBD, offering convenient access by public transport and a dynamic work environment.

Job Summary:

  • This is a unique chance to leverage your procurement expertise in a fast-paced, international EPCM project setting.

About the Role:

  1. Execute the procurement plan, collaborating with the team to schedule equipment contract packages.
  2. Contribute to the preparation of detailed estimates and control budgets.
  3. Prepare commercial terms and conditions for contracts and purchase orders.
  4. Carry out surveys to determine locally available materials/equipment and those to be purchased from international suppliers.
  5. Evaluate progress against project objectives of quality, cost, and schedule.
  6. Ensure Stantec's lawful obligations are communicated to suppliers and contractors.
  7. Maintain professional and ethical procurement practices in line with company policies.
  8. Establish quality levels, methods, and procedures to control Quality Assurance requirements during the procurement cycle.
  9. Coordinate work with other disciplines to ensure aligned procurement strategies.
  10. Foster close working relationships with Client's Procurement Representatives.
  11. Hold weekly procurement meetings to review progress against the project schedule.
  12. Prepare and issue Requests for Tender, manage tender receipt, and conduct commercial evaluations.
  13. Develop joint technical/commercial recommendations after receiving technical evaluations.
  14. Administer Purchase Orders, inspect, expedite, and manage logistics activities.
  15. Communicate disputes, actions, or potential claims against Purchase Orders or Construction Contracts.
  16. Identify and record potential claims.
  17. Monitor settlement of insurance claims against the Project.
  18. Nurture strong relationships with contractors/suppliers for the project and collaborate with managers/project personnel.
  19. Maintain the procurement register to track package status throughout its lifecycle.
  20. Manage the TenderLink application throughout the package lifecycle.

Benefits:

  • Average annual salary: $80,000-$120,000 AUD
