About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Therapeutic Youth Care Specialist to join our team at Lifestyle Solutions. As a Therapeutic Youth Care Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting young people in out-of-home care, providing them with the care and support they need to thrive.
Key Responsibilities
- Health Support: Administer and document medication, and follow health support plans to ensure the young person's physical and emotional well-being.
- Active Support: Assist with daily living tasks, such as meal preparation, dressing, and transportation, to promote independence and self-care.
- Positive Behaviour Support: Develop and implement strategies to manage challenging behaviours, triggers, and escalations, promoting a safe and supportive environment.
- Safeguarding: Ensure the safety and well-being of both the young person and yourself, documenting and reporting any incidents or concerns.
Requirements
- Demonstrated Motivation: A genuine passion for working with young people and a commitment to making a positive impact in their lives.
- Availability: Willingness to work rotating rosters, including weekends and overnights, to provide flexible support to the young person.
- Qualifications: Hold or be working towards a relevant diploma or degree, such as a Certificate IV in Youth Work or a Bachelor of Social Work.
- Clearances: Current paid Working with Children Check and National Police Check, with a valid driver's license and First Aid certificate.
