Youth Support Worker

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Youth Support Worker to join our care team at Lifestyle Solutions. As a valued member of our team, you will play a crucial role in providing tailored therapeutic interventions to children and young people in out-of-home care.
Key Responsibilities- Provide daily care and support to children and young people, including personal hygiene, health and well-being, medical, transportation, recreational and educational support needs
- Contribute to and maintain a safe, clean and personalised care environment for all children and young people
- Document accurately events and developments related to the day-to-day provision of care on the child or young person's journey with us
- Ensure children and young people's NDIS plans are accessible for them while in our care
- Utilise trauma informed practices and supports in day-to-day care provision for children and young people
- Provide positive behaviour support, therapeutic interventions and safety to children and young people who may experience events of escalation and crisis
- Encourage and facilitate opportunities for social engagement, recreation, and community involvement
- Collaborate with the care team to develop and implement individualised support plans
- Advocate for the rights and needs of the children and young people
- Support young people in developing essential life skills, including education, vocational training, and independent living skills
- Promote and support positive relationships and connection for children and young people with family, culture and community
- Help children and young people reach developmental and life milestones towards a healthy, happy and thriving life
We are looking for care team members who have a demonstrated passion for helping children and young people heal and grow through understanding and helping them lead fulfilling lives whilst promoting their independence. You will understand the importance of trauma informed care, and adapting responses and utilising a broad range of support strategies. You will also be committed to meticulous documentation and reporting with a deep commitment to the safeguarding of vulnerable children and young people.
