Aboriginal Health Specialist

The Institute for Urban Indigenous Health (IUIH) seeks a skilled Comprehensive Healthcare Provider to deliver high-quality healthcare services within our framework of care. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive and holistic health care to achieve improved health outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
Culturally appropriate health care provision begins with rapport building, acute illness or injury prevention, early detection, chronic disease management, care throughout the life span, health promotion, support for social-emotional well-being, and consideration of the social determinants of health.
The ideal candidate will be skilled in providing health assessments, diagnosis, and treatment services to clients, with a strong understanding of primary health care principles and ability to work collaboratively with a wide variety of professionals and the public as part of a team.
- Provide skilled health assessment, diagnosis, and treatment services to clients.
- Understand and apply the principles of primary health care, working effectively with a diverse range of professionals and the public.
- Commit to quality management through the use of LogiQC quality management systems.
- Demonstrate clinic experience, particularly in implementing and supporting a medical/primary health care team, and effectively planning and coordinating workload to achieve results.
- Be competent in using clinical software systems and technology, including telehealth software.
- Commit to ongoing continuous quality improvement processes, including annual reviews to optimize service provision.
- Operate within Clinical Policy and Procedures at all times.
- Develop effective communication skills – written, verbal, and interpersonal – to ensure high-quality medical documentation.
- Build and maintain productive working relationships at all levels, fostering internal and external connections, cooperation, trust, and respect, while valuing differences and diversity.
