Job Title: Principal Structural Engineer

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled senior structural engineer to lead our team in Sydney.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and delivering high-profile structural consulting projects, including client management, project scoping, and supervising other team members. They will also provide technical expertise and leadership in all aspects of structural engineering and contribute to the development of business goals and objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical leadership on complex water/wastewater, civil, and building-related projects through developing, scoping, leading, and undertaking design, supervision, and review.
  • Provide technical expertise, direction, and coaching in terms of design, task allocation, monitoring of project progress, and resourcing.
  • Plan, program, and coordinate assigned multidisciplinary projects as Project Structural Lead to deliver agreed-upon outputs on time and to agreed-upon quality standards.
  • Maintain appropriate technical and professional qualifications.
  • Demonstrate team leadership and project management principles while conducting structural engineering activities.
  • Establish and advance technical procedures, design processes, and quality assurance for the structural engineering team.

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualification in relevant engineering field.
  • Chartered Engineer or working towards.
  • 8 years' experience in an engineering consultancy.
  • Leadership abilities including managing subcontractors and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Knowledge of structural engineering and delivery environment.
  • Highly developed problem-solving and negotiation skills to resolve disputes that arise.
  • Strong understanding of D&C or alternative delivery projects.
  • Solid report writing with the ability to tell a compelling story.
  • Proficient in Project Management Tools, MS Project, Power BI.
