Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Kitchen Assistant to join our team in providing high-quality food services to residents. As a key member of our hospitality team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the well-being and satisfaction of our residents through the preparation and serving of delicious, nutritious meals.

The ideal candidate will have experience working in a kitchen environment, with a strong focus on food safety and quality control. You will work collaboratively with our Head Cook to plan and prepare meals that meet the dietary requirements and preferences of our residents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparing meals according to established recipes and menus.
  • Assisting with meal planning, including special dietary needs.
  • Maintaining a clean and sanitary kitchen environment, adhering to strict food safety standards.
  • Setting up dining rooms for tray service to ensure resident comfort and convenience.
  • Assisting with food preparation tasks as required.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess:

  • Demonstrated experience working in a kitchen environment, preferably with the aged or vulnerable populations.
  • A strong understanding of food safety principles and guidelines, including HACCP/Food Safety Program.
  • National Police Certificate and evidence of right to work in Australia.
  • Minimum 3 COVID-19 vaccinations and seasonal influenza vaccination.
