Key Behaviour Support Practitioner Role

The organisation is seeking experienced Behaviour Support Practitioners to provide life-changing therapy to NDIS participants. This role requires utilising assessment and intervention skills to support participants, building meaningful relationships with participants and their supports, developing and implementing Behaviour Support Plans with function-based strategies, conducting Functional Behaviour Assessments, and collaborating within interdisciplinary teams.

About The Position

This position involves working in diverse settings, from homes and schools to playgrounds, workplaces, and community centres. Your goal is to support participants in achieving their goals and maximising NDIS funding. You will work independently as well as part of a team to ensure the best outcomes for clients.

Responsibilities:
  • Developing and implementing tailored Behaviour Support Plans with participants
  • Collaborating with participants, their families, carers and friends to understand needs and develop plans
  • Conducting assessments to inform Behaviour Support Plan development
  • Providing training and coaching to participants and their supporters on behavioural strategies
  • Building partnerships with other service providers to ensure seamless services for clients
Requirements:
  • Relevant tertiary qualification (Bachelor, Master's or Graduate Diploma)
  • Relevant registrations such as AHPRA registration or SPA registration
  • Minimum 12 months experience as a Behaviour Support Practitioner
  • A positive approach to work and commitment to ongoing learning
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively
  • Valid Australian driver's license
  • NDIS Workers Screening Check and Working with Children Check
