Job Opportunity:

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Director to join our team. The role will involve leading internal audits and ensuring the effectiveness of governance, risk management, and internal controls.

This is a senior leadership position that requires strong interpersonal and communication skills, as well as strategic thinking and conceptual skills. The ideal candidate will have qualifications and/or extensive experience in internal audit, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality results in a fast-paced environment.

The Assistant Director will be responsible for coordinating and undertaking detailed or sensitive projects, including performing varied activities involving many different processes or methods. They will also supervise and support a team with conducting interviews, completing risk assessments, and presenting findings.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, including investigations and requests from the Australian National Audit Office (ANAO). They will also be required to provide leadership and education on internal auditing functions and value-add services across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading internal audits and ensuring the effectiveness of governance, risk management, and internal controls.
  • Coordinating and undertaking detailed or sensitive projects, including performing varied activities involving many different processes or methods.
  • Supervising and supporting a team with conducting interviews, completing risk assessments, and presenting findings.
  • Providing leadership and education on internal auditing functions and value-add services across the organization.
  • Liaising with internal and external stakeholders on auditing matters.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications and/or extensive experience in internal audit.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, as well as strategic thinking and conceptual skills.
  • A proven track record of delivering high-quality results in a fast-paced environment.
