About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Contracts Advisor to join our Commercial team in Perth. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing contractual matters on our projects, ensuring compliance with our Operating Standards, and providing commercial and contract advice to our project teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer and prepare correspondence, position papers, and contractual documents related to commercial and contractual matters.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain head contract, subcontract, supply chain, and risk strategy and procedures in line with our Operating Standards.
  • Negotiate and form subcontracts for key packages, ensuring compliance with our Operating Standards.
  • Support the development of claims strategies related to head contract issues and major subcontractor claims.
  • Prepare and administer all claims and variations for the adjustment of compensation and time under the head contract.
  • Liaise with project planners to ensure that all claims are fully demonstrated from a schedule perspective and comply with the requirements of the head contract.
  • Manage and resolve all claims with clients and subcontractors/suppliers in accordance with Contract Formation and our Operating Standards.
  • Partner with project teams to review and certify head contract progress payment claims in accordance with the timeframes under the head contract.
  • Provide commercial and contract advice and support to project teams managing the head contract and assigned subcontracts.
  • Participate in project risk and opportunity reviews on a minimum monthly frequency that are relevant to head contract risks.
  • Support management and liaise with Insurance and Commercial Advisor to ensure all notifications of insurance claims or potential insurance claims are provided to our insurance brokers.
Requirements
  • 8+ years of direct experience in similar senior commercial or contracts management roles on large value engineering and construction projects.
  • Proven ability to administer and prepare correspondence, position papers on contractual/commercial matters.
  • Highly organized and energetic team member with excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work with multiple stakeholders and apply time management and prioritization skills to deliver desired outcomes.
  • Tertiary qualification in engineering, quantity surveying, law, construction management, and economics (CM&E) preferred.
