Head of Audio, Video Systems Technician

Job Summary:

This is a dynamic leadership role where you will lead and coordinate all technical production activities for events at the Cairns Performing Arts Centre (CPAC), Munro Martin Parklands (MMP) and other Cultural Services venues. You will be responsible for managing all aspects of sound and video production from equipment selection and setup to ensuring flawless execution during performances.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead a talented team: Collaborate with directors designers and technicians to bring creative concepts to life
  • Manage sound and video production: Select and set up equipment ensure flawless execution during performances
  • Enhance audience experience: Support the artistic vision of each production

Requirements:

  • Possession of a Rigger's Certification or ability to obtain
  • Certificate III in live Production and Services or ability to obtain
  • Certificate IV in live Production and Technical Services or ability to obtain
  • Current Queensland LR Class Drivers Licence or ability to obtain
  • Current First Aid and CPR or ability to obtain
  • Elevated work platform 11 meters or ability to obtain
  • A minimum of five years' experience working at a multi stage arts centre or for a production or theatre company
  • High level operational competency in technical theatre specialising in audio and video systems
  • Demonstrated high level supervisory skills including a demonstrated track record of events delivery and thorough knowledge of supervisory responsibilities under Work Health and Safety
