Job Title: Senior Workplace Health and Safety Specialist

This is a mid-senior level, full-time role as a health and safety professional responsible for overseeing all aspects of workplace safety within a construction company. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years of experience in a similar position, preferably with management responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversight and management of all safety operations to ensure compliance with site and industry standards.
  • Risk assessments and provision of advice or insights to the internal team, contractors, and clients.
  • Investigation of incidents and near misses, followed by development of preventative actions.
  • Collaboration with the Quality Assurance team to determine best practices.
  • Site visits and liaison with Site Managers and other project teams to ensure effective communication and cooperation.
  • Audits and inspections to evaluate HSE performance and corrective actions.
  • Management of injuries through the WorkCover process, including development of return-to-work plans.
  • Liaison with third parties as necessary.
  • Maintenance of required training and certifications.
Requirements:
  • Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (BSB41419).
  • Diploma of Work Health and Safety (beneficial).
  • Experience in the construction industry.
  • Proven ability to implement corrective and preventative actions.
  • Strong attention to detail for investigations and Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
