About the Role:

InLife Independent Living Ltd is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Disability Support Worker to join our team. As a Disability Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting an individual with complex needs to live independently in the community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide personal care and support to the individual, including assistance with daily living activities, household tasks, and transportation.
  • Develop and maintain a strong rapport with the individual and their family, ensuring their needs and preferences are respected and met.
  • Work collaboratively with the support team to ensure a safe and supportive environment for the individual.
  • Implement behavioral support plans and strategies to promote the individual's independence and well-being.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance your skills and knowledge in supporting individuals with complex needs.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years' experience supporting people with behaviors of concern.
  • Understanding of trauma-informed care and experience working with individuals who have experienced trauma.
  • Experience with key word signing/augmentative communication and personal care.
  • Full driver's license and ability to drive the individual to activities.
  • Mature outlook on life and ability to problem-solve and think outside the box.
