Tertiary Supervisor for Professional Experience Students

As a tertiary supervisor, you will play a pivotal role in the student professional experience (PEX) placements. Your involvement will significantly impact the academic and personal growth of our Teacher Education Students.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor the progress of Teacher Education Students while they are working at schools to fulfill their professional experience course requirements.
  • Arrange visits to schools to discuss the students' progress with them and their Mentor Teachers.
  • Observe lessons taught by Teacher Education Students, complete lesson evaluation forms, and conduct post-observation debriefs.
  • Address any matters of concern affecting Teacher Education Students or host schools.
  • Clarify issues related to assessments during the Professional Experience period.

Essential skills include being a practicing Christian with active church involvement, holding a current NSW Working with Children Check (WWCC), and possessing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Teaching. Relevant prior experience in teaching positions at schools or early childhood education centers, as well as supervising teachers in schools and/or early learning centers, is also necessary.

Teamwork, excellent communication and leadership skills, customer service focus, and attention to detail are essential qualities for this role. Ability to work under pressure, adapt to change, and prioritize tasks effectively is crucial.
