About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Conduct Risk Analyst to join our Data Platforms team at Westpac Group. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting and advising our Risk and Compliance partners by providing in-depth analysis and actionable insights using our data and analytical assets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, support, maintain, and monitor analytics frameworks to identify, quantify, and manage compliance breaches, lending practices, and sales quality.
  • Extract and analyze data using data warehouse and database management software to conduct complex database queries and set up automated processes for ETL.
  • Monitor and analyze non-compliant behaviors by detection performance and improvements through the development of rules, automation, creation of mitigation strategies, etc.
Requirements
  • Excellent programming skills in SAS/Teradata SQL/SSIS packages.
  • Familiarity with and experience setting up automated jobs.
  • Control-M knowledge is preferred.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with an ability to tell stories about data.
  • Knowledge of R or Python preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of various analytical and problem-solving techniques.
  • General banking industry and financial concepts knowledge (Preferred).
  • Knowledge of and experience in a Risk analytics or an environment where data analytics provided strategic or operational insight would be highly advantageous.
