About the Role

We are seeking an experienced SMSF Accountant to join our specialist team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality SMSF accounting and administration services to our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide specialist SMSF accounting and administration services in accordance with regulatory and legislative requirements.
  • Confidently navigate Class software to continuously improve your skill level.
  • Prepare fund activity statements, financial statements, and annual returns to a high standard.
  • Work with minimal guidance on basic compliance jobs.
  • Liaise with clients to answer queries, provide regular updates, and proactively request documents and information to ensure jobs are completed promptly.
  • Research various superannuation-related matters, subject to senior review.
  • Communicate with the ATO in relation to client matters, such as queries, setting up payment arrangements, obtaining remissions, and lodgements.
  • Promptly and collaboratively communicate with accounting team members to achieve high-quality results for clients.
  • Efficiently coordinate with administration to ensure collations and client correspondence are completed.
  • Complete daily timesheets and adhere to budget requirements, preparing fees with a high attention to detail.
  • Attend training sessions and actively participate in team activities.
About You

We are looking for an individual with:

  • Previous experience in the SMSF industry, providing support to SMSF clients.
  • Completing or working towards completion of CA/CPA qualifications.
  • A strong attention to detail.
  • Experience using Class software, which would be beneficial.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess risks for clients before decision-making.
  • Demonstrated experience working within a team environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to operate Microsoft Office 365, including Word and Excel.
