About the Role

We are seeking an experienced SMSF Accountant to join our team at people2people. As an SMSF Accountant, you will be responsible for managing SMSF annual accounts and returns, developing your skills to become an SMSF specialist, and collaborating closely with your team to provide training and mentoring to junior staff.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Manage SMSF annual accounts and returns independently, ensuring adherence to agreed timeframes and budgets.
  2. Develop your skills to become an SMSF specialist, staying up-to-date with the latest regulations and best practices.
  3. Collaborate closely with your team, providing training and mentoring to junior staff to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to excel in their roles.
  4. Apply your strong understanding of the SIS Act and regulations to provide expert advice to clients.
  5. Conduct initial reviews of SMSF information and data to identify areas for improvement.
  6. Oversee a portfolio of SMSF clients, ensuring their needs are met and their expectations are exceeded.
  7. Delegate tasks effectively, taking ownership and responsibility for the work of your team.
Requirements:
  1. A Business degree majoring in Accounting or Commerce.
  2. Completed/Studying towards CA/CPA qualification with at least 2 years of recent experience in a similar role within professional services.
  3. Proven SMSF technical knowledge and accounting skills.
  4. Strong team integration and collaboration abilities.
  5. Demonstrated capability to understand and tailor services to client needs.
  6. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  7. Outstanding attention to detail and time management.
  8. Ability to perform well under pressure.
  9. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  10. Proven ability to meet deadlines.
