About the Role

We are seeking a Food Service Assistant to support our Food Service delivery at Uniting AgeWell Lillian Martin. The successful candidate will provide a service in accordance with the current planned menu and requirements of the Food Safety Program, supporting and enhancing residents' individual needs and wellbeing.

The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Maintaining daily and periodic cleaning schedules for food preparation and food service areas
  • Serving residents meals in dining hall services and trolley service to rooms, washing dishes, sandwich making, providing cups of tea or coffee to residents and their visitors
  • Providing feedback regarding residents' likes and dislikes regarding menu planning and escalating any observations or concerns in residents' conditions
  • Promoting and participating in quality activities, and providing outstanding customer service, maintaining friendly, supportive, and professional relationships with residents, their relatives, and friends
  • Supporting colleagues by sharing knowledge and expertise
About You

We are looking for a candidate with experience and expertise working in food service, preferably in a health, hotel, or aged care setting. The ideal candidate will have availability to work either 7am-3pm or 3.30pm-7.30pm, be able to work at a fast pace as part of a team, and have the initiative and ability to work without supervision.

The successful candidate will also have the following essential requirements:

  • A current Working With Children Check card/Vulnerable People card
  • Current and ongoing flu vaccinations
  • Australian working rights
  • Ability to pass a national police clearance and NDIS Clearance
