About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Fitter to join our team at Miller Leith. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance of our machinery and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine and scheduled maintenance on machinery and equipment to prevent downtime and ensure efficiency.
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical issues to minimize production interruptions.
  • Develop and implement a preventive maintenance schedule to extend the lifespan of our equipment.
  • Assist in the installation of new machinery and equipment, ensuring seamless integration into our existing systems.
  • Ensure all maintenance work adheres to safety standards and protocols, promoting a safe working environment.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, inspections, and parts inventory.
  • Collaborate with other departments to address maintenance and operational needs, participating in team meetings and projects.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and suggest upgrades or modifications to enhance equipment efficiency.
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Maintenance Fitter in a manufacturing or agricultural setting.
  • Trade qualification in Mechanical Fitting or a related field.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.
  • Knowledge of maintenance and repair techniques for industrial machinery.
  • Understanding of safety procedures and protocols.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and respond to emergencies.
