We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a trainee in the Public Sector.

This exciting opportunity is part of the Victorian State Governments Youth Employment Scheme (YES), which offers people aged 15 to 29 a career kick-start with traineeships in various administrative support positions.

The YES program focuses on addressing barriers to employment, prioritizing young people who have left school without completing Year 12, come from culturally diverse backgrounds, are Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander, at risk of homelessness, young offenders, have a disability, or live in social housing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support in the collation and distribution of documents.
  • Effective communication and liaison with managers and staff to assist in the professional operation of the business unit.
  • Perform a range of administrative tasks accurately and in a timely manner, including answering routine queries, taking messages, following up on action items, arranging meetings and agendas, photocopying and filing.
  • Computer-based tasks, including preparing and sending standard written communications, maintaining databases and registers.
Requirements
  • A strong desire to work and develop your career within the Public Sector.
  • Commitment to a 12-month traineeship, while undertaking a Certificate III Business on-the-job.
  • High sense of self-motivation and enthusiasm, with a high work ethic and can-do attitude.
  • Professional presentation.
  • Honesty, reliability & punctuality.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Sound written communication skills.
