
Disaster Response Specialist

This role is a critical part of the firefighting team, working to protect people and property across Queensland. The position requires individuals who are passionate about emergency services and committed to making a difference in their community.
As an auxiliary firefighter, you will be responsible for responding to fire and other emergency incidents, promoting community safety and emergency preparedness through community education activities, and developing and maintaining competencies through regular drills and training courses.
The successful candidate will have excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. You will also be required to operate specialist firefighting and rescue equipment in a safe and effective manner, contribute to upkeep and hygiene of station facilities, and ensure maintenance and repair of operational equipment and station facilities.
Key responsibilities include:
- Responding to fire and other emergency incidents as a member of a team
- Promoting community safety and emergency preparedness through community education activities
- Developing and maintaining competencies through regular drills and training courses
- Maintaining attendance standards for emergency incidents and training
- Operating specialist firefighting and rescue equipment in a safe and effective manner
- Contributing to upkeep and hygiene of station facilities
- Ensuring maintenance and repair of operational equipment and station facilities
