Job Overview

Norwest Private Hospital is seeking an experienced Clinical Nurse Specialist with exceptional interpersonal skills and a passion for delivering high-quality patient care in a dynamic Emergency Department environment.

The hospital operates a 277-bed facility, offering high-acuity care with an Emergency Department located in Sydney's Bella Vista. Our department sees over 10,000 adult and paediatric presentations annually, participating in the NSW Ambulance Matrix system.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support and mentor the nursing team in planning, assessment, implementation, and evaluation of excellent standards of evidence-based patient care.
  • Demonstrate professional practice by adhering to AHPRA standards, code of ethics, legislative requirements, and Healthscope policies.
  • Foster a learning environment through clinical presentations to support the nursing team's professional development and maintain own continuous professional growth.
  • Contribute to inter-disciplinary teams to provide exceptional patient care by actively engaging in quality improvements and projects.
  • Collaborate with external partners to ensure patients receive high-quality care across the healthcare continuum.
  • Maintain professional relationships with VMO partners, utilizing a customer service mindset, to achieve high-quality patient outcomes.
Essential Requirements
  • Current AHPRA registration.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years' experience in ED with strong clinical knowledge and resuscitation skills.
  • Post Graduate Certificate in Emergency Nursing or working towards.
  • Understanding of Australian National Commission in Quality and Safety Ten National Standards.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
