About the Internship

The Centre for Animal Referral and Emergency (CARE) is a leading multidisciplinary veterinary hospital offering a 12-month ECC internship program. This immersive experience provides unparalleled clinical exposure, structured mentorship, and continuous education, enabling you to master emergency and critical care.

Under the guidance of Dr. Christine Lovatt DACVECC and our team of 6 seasoned MANZCVS veterinarians, you will thrive in an environment committed to the highest standards of patient care. The program incorporates a range of benefits, including early active participation in the ECC environment, daily rounds and tutorials, and rotations through other departments to further develop your knowledge and skills.

Key Benefits

  • Early active participation in the ECC environment with support and guidance from assigned mentors
  • Active involvement in daily ECC rounds and attendance at regular ECC tutorials
  • Rotation through other departments to develop your knowledge and skills
  • Mentorship by senior veterinarians, including multiple MANZCVS veterinarians and direct supervision and guidance from our DACVECC
  • Encouragement, support, and provision for preparation for Membership examinations of the Australian and New Zealand College (if eligible) or other post-graduate training opportunities
  • Competitive remuneration, including 5 weeks of annual leave and 1 week of study leave for conference or externship attendance
