Senior Accounting Position

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to join our team. This is a full-time, permanent position based in Grafton NSW.

As a Senior Accountant, you will play a key role in managing a portfolio of clients, providing accounting and advisory services, and mentoring junior staff. You will be responsible for preparing and reviewing financial statements, income tax returns, and BAS/IAS for a diverse client base.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, and hold a Chartered or Certified Public Accountant qualification. You will also have demonstrated experience working in a public practice, with exposure to SME clients.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing and reviewing financial statements, income tax returns, and BAS/IAS for clients.
  • Supporting clients with business structuring, cash flow forecasting, tax planning, CGT, Division 7A, and succession planning.
  • Building strong relationships with clients by becoming embedded in their businesses and understanding their unique needs.
  • Supervising, guiding, and reviewing the work of junior team members.
  • Staying up to date with tax legislation and compliance developments, especially those impacting SMEs and rural enterprises.

Mandatory requirements include:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Chartered or Certified Public Accountant qualification.
  • Demonstrated experience working in a public practice, with exposure to SME clients preferred.
  • Strong technical knowledge of Australian taxation.
  • Excellent client-relationship and customer service skills.
