Fitter/Motor Mechanic Level 1-4

The successful applicant will provide efficient and effective mechanical services to support the Engineering Department and consistently ensure that safe work practices are adopted.

Maintain all equipment and services, and carry out maintenance tasks across the campus. Install, inspect, maintain, and repair mechanical services within the hospital and other properties covered by the Engineering Department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrated experience in maintaining a large building complex or hospital with proven ability to work and cooperate with a multidisciplinary team of trade, non-trade, and contract staff to efficiently deliver maintenance services in a busy work environment.
  • Proven skills in problem solving, including the ability to interpret building and services plans.
  • Hold a boiler attendant license or willing to obtain one after commencement.
  • Experienced in the use of tools associated with fitter's work, including lathes, bench drills, grinders, oxy and electric welders.
  • Sound written and verbal communication skills. Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office and work order systems.
  • Demonstrated understanding and commitment to Work, Health and Safety and preferably hold a current White Card license.
  • Current drivers licence (with a willingness to travel in accordance with the demands of the position).
