Job Title:

We are seeking a motivated junior medical professional to join our cardiothoracic department as a trainee.

About the Role

The successful candidate will work within a comprehensive cardiac and thoracic surgical service, providing expert care and clinical advice to patients, caregivers and other healthcare professionals.

  • Provide clinical guidance and support to patients and healthcare professionals
  • Manage a workload of theatre duties, ward patients and liaison with consultant surgeons
  • Participate in unit teaching, surgical training and supervision of junior medical officers

This role requires excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team. A professional attitude and flexibility in work role are essential, with a preparedness to participate in after-hours overtime and on-call rosters and rotations.

Requirements
  • MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia
  • Excellent communication, organisational and time management skills, and computer skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a problem-solving multidisciplinary team
